FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol better known as CBD is a naturally occurring cannabinoid compound found in both the Hemp and Marijuana Cannabis plants, first discovered in 1940. It’s the most widely accepted non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in the Cannabis Sativa plant, just one of 113 cannabinoids that have been identified in Cannabis.
Hemp based CBD extracts should not be confused with CBD from Marijuana, even though they are derived from the same Cannabis plant.

What is a Cannabinoid?

Cannabinoids are molecular compounds naturally made from Cannabis Sativa plants; however, they are also found in other plants and we produce them inside our bodies. Cannabinoids are classed as fatty compounds that play a vital role within our immune and central nervous system working within our Endocannabinoid system.

What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

The Endocannabinoid System is our biological system composed of Endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.

How does CBD affect the Endocannabinoid System?

CBD acts upon CB1 and CB2 receptors located throughout the body to produce a variety of potentially positive outcomes. By stimulating the Endocannabinoid system, CBD promotes homeostasis, reduces pain sensation and decreases inflammation.

Will I get “High” from using CBD?

Because CBD is the non-intoxicating component from Hemp which legally must have less than 0.3 percent of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), there’s absolutely no high or euphoric effect as a result of using CBD.

What is the difference between THC and CBD?

Both CBD and THC are Cannabinoids found in the Cannabis family. Cannabinoids that both directly respond to our human Endocannabinoid System (ECS) THC is found in high concentration forms in extracts made from Marijuana plants. The THC Molecule is solely responsible for giving you a high/euphoric feeling as mentioned above.

Will CBD show up in roadside testing?

There are no current legal prohibitions related to driving in patients using CBD-only products, and there is no evidence that CBD can give rise to positive roadside drug tests in the absence of THC. Threleaf products have the THC CO2 extracted.

How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?

Properties of CBD will vary for each individual depending on height, weight, strength of supplement and quantity of CBD taken daily. Because there are no intoxicating ingredients in CBD oil, there is no high effect. Start with small amounts gradually increase with each dose until reaching required results.

What Makes Hemp plants different from Marijuana plants?

Both Hemp and Marijuana come from the same plant family, Cannabis Sativa.
The biggest difference between the two is their levels of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) THC is the illegal psychotropic cannabinoid found in the Marijuana plant.

How much CBD should I take?

In short there is no exact answer to this question. Each persons body composition and genetic chemistry is unique to them, it is very difficult to set a predetermined measurement that is a one size fits all, right for everyone scenario. Thats why we suggest micro dosage for the first few days to try and better determine whats right for you.
